Where the number is

Touring caravan built from 1992Stamped on the chassis, usually on the A frame at the front. Etched in the bottom corner of every window. From 2016 also on a VIN CHIP sticker inside the front window and in the front locker. All three should agree.
MotorhomeOn the chassis plate under the bonnet or in the door frame, and on the V5C log book. The number plate is on the V5C too. Compare all three.
A number that does not matchA window with a different number, or one window that is newer than the rest, is the first sign of a cloned caravan. Walk away.

Why this is honest by design

We checked every UK source on 24 September 2026. For touring caravans the only register of theft, finance and write off is CRiS, and it is not open to other businesses. For motorhomes the data lives with the vehicle data companies. So a report from us never prints a blank and never calls anything clear when the truth is that the data lives somewhere else.
